About Susan Rios

My first awareness of the peaceful, picture perfect settings painted by Susan Rios was many years ago.  I fell in love were her painting, "Coming Home".  This painting was exactly how I wanted my home to look and feel.  Although I could not afford the original or even a canvas lithograph, I was able to purchase a framed print.  This took center stage in my home for many years.  In 1998, when I opened the little tearoom in Auburn,  California, the print then became the focal point of the main room.  Nearly everyone who came to tea inquired about the print.

I am now so fortunate to have many of her open edition canvas lithographs in my shop.  I can look at them everyday.  Her paintings truly evoke feeling of contentment, familiarity and romance.

"Tea at Summer Hill" is my newest addition.  This image is a memory of a lovely afternoon Susan spent with her friend and well known author, Emilie Barnes having tea together at the Summer Hill Inn in Santa Barbara, Ca.  Susan Rios has illustrated several of Emilie Barnes books on the subject of tea, which I also carry in my Auburn gift store.
